Arsani Monastery
The monastery's construction date is unknown, but the earliest reference to it dates to 1601, the second Byzantine period. Unlike traditional layouts, the church reflects a design more typical of Catholic monasteries. The 1645 engraving on the refectory's lintel indicates construction was underway before Ottoman control in 1646. Despite challenges, the monastery remained active, even hosting a school in the early 19th century. It suffered significant damage in the 1856 earthquake.
